Student of the Month:
Arik Tavs, SPT
"Hello fellow therapy students and grandma Peggy (I know she will be seeing this on Facebook)! My name is Arik Tavs, and I am a third-year DPT student at Concordia University Wisconsin. I grew up in Waupun, Wisconsin and then made my way up to UW – Green Bay where I graduated with a degree in Human Biology before starting PT school. For the past few years, I have loved being involved in our program’s student-led organization – Concordia Association for Student Physical Therapists (CASPT). This last year, I had the privilege of being a leader on the executive board, and despite the circumstances, we were able to successfully plan social, fundraising, volunteer, and professional opportunities for our peers. Outside of school, I enjoy participating in triathlon, failing to break 80 on the golf course, and spending time with my wife. In addition, I take pride in my Wisconsin heritage by working part-time at a local brewery - The Fermentorium, as well as cheering on the Badgers, Bucks, Packers, and Brewers.
I am grateful to be receiving this recognition and want to thank the SSIG board. I also want to give a big shoutout to my wife, CUW faculty, and all the friends that have been a part of this fun ride! Good luck to everyone as we approach board exams, clinicals, and spring semesters!"
